Malcolm X Grassroots Movement Statement of Solidarity with the Black August Organizing Committee.

The Malcolm X Grassroots Movement (MXGM) stands in active solidarity with the Black August Organizing Committee (BAOC) and all other revolutionary New Afrikan forces in the building and advancement of the tradition of resistance that is Black August. We recognize the historic contribution of the BAOC in bringing this revolutionary tradition and practice to the New Afrikan Nation, and the sacrifices it made and continues to make in promoting this tradition and serving as a constant reminder of the continuing struggle of our captured soldiers detained in the concentration camps of California and the whole of the US empire.

The aims and objectives of the Malcolm X Grassroots Movement in organizing Black August Hip Hop Benefit Concerts are to: a) build a revolutionary New Afrikan youth culture, b) raise awareness of our Political Prisoners and Prisoners of War, c) raise funds to support our Political Prisoners and Prisoners of War, and d) build a mass movement to free our Political Prisoners and Prisoners of War. The aims and objectives of our Black August International Hip Hop Tour’s are to build international solidarity with the New Afrikan Independence Movement (NAIM) and New Afrikan Political Prisoners and Prisoners of War. Our Political Prisoners and Prisoners of War are the heart and soul of our historic movement in North America for independence and self-determination. All of these activities are in the spirit of resistance and are building and spreading the tradition of Black August throughout the US empire and the wide Pan-Afrikan world.

MXGM believes in principled unity within our movement for self-determination and independence and to that end we unite with the efforts of the BAOC and all revolutionary New Afrikan forces to promote this unity through the vehicle of Black August and resist all of the efforts of our enemies to divide and conquer us. Divided we can accomplish little, but United we can move mountains and destroy empires!

Build Black August resistance!

End the Genocide of Afrikan peoples!

Free all Political Prisoners and Prisoners of War!

Free the Land!

In Unity and Struggle,
the Malcolm X Grassroots Movement
